Part one: the misunderstanding
ld have been resolved easily. "I didn't lie." Arielle said blankly. "I simply forgot."A lie in itself, she did lie she simply didn't want to be reminded of it or of what happened at all. He would never believe her. Not now, maybe not ever. Ezakai shook his head in disbelief. "That's bull and you know it Arielle, if you would just be honest things would be easier for you." Arielle got out of her chair and went to stand by the window, looking out at the world to calm down before she exploded. Ezakai stood there patiently waiting for her to come clean, it would hurt him regardless if it was on purpose or not. The waiting game began neither wanting to fold or back down Arielle wanted to be heard but knew he would never ever listen. Ezakai's patients was wearing thin as he went towards the door looking back at Arielle awaiting for her to say something anything at all. The silence was deafening Arielle not daring to speak and Ezakai not budging.
Part two soul search
Arielle stares blankly at the steering wheel, the engine idling, a low hum against the rising tide of her despair. Each imagined future with him dissolves like sugar in water, leaving only a bitter residue. This isn't a fleeting doubt, a momentary lapse of faith; it's a fundamental understanding, carved deep into her soul. The parking lot blurs through a film of unshed tears, each drop a silent testament to the love she desperately wants to salvage, the love that simply isn't there......
